ROAM App Replaces SVRS

Updated: Nov 2, 2019

Members of the United States Customs and Border Protection SVRS (Small Vessel Reporting System) were alerted by email that the system will be shut down September 5th and replaced with the CBP ROAM App.

Existing SVRS numbers will continue to remain valid and may be entered in the CBP ROAM app for expedited processing.

Boaters can also report their arrival via telephone to their designated reporting numbers or report to the port of entry.

Where can CBP ROAM App be used?

The app can be used to report US Entry by boat in the Great Lakes, most of the Eastern Seaboard from Delaware to Florida, US territories in the Caribbean, Texas, San Diego, and California. Additional locations are being added but if you have any doubt boaters are advised to contact their local port of entry to confirm arrival submissions by ROAM app are accepted.

Where to download ROAM App?

Download CBP ROAM on your Android or Apple device.

How does the CBP ROAM App work?

After downloading and creating an account, enter your traveller number, mode, and trip details. After submission, a CVP officer will review it and initiate a video interview if necessary. You will then receive a notification and email with clearance status or next steps. Those with a Trusted Traveler can enroll as a ‘Verified Traveler’ through the app for expedited processing and will receive a Verified Traveler number for future use.

For more information on the CBP ROAM app, visit the CBP ROAM page on CBP’s website. For CBP ROAM questions or comments, please reach out to cbproam@cbp.dhs.gov.
